Case Study: Portland Stone, Victoria Embankment

Portland 3

Portland Stone is one of the most beautiful and recognisable stones in the country. We have many years experience in processing Portland stone and creating find masonry pieces.

Lovell Stone Group were commissioned to create 35 full size and 8 half size Portland balusters for a project on Victoria Embankment, London.

The balustrades were cut using a water jet lathe , taking 30 minutes from start to finish. Each one was then finished by hand by our specialist team of Masons.

We also supplied die blocks, die caps and balustrade copings. The project which overlooks the London Eye, is an interesting example of masonry at its best.
